The tandoori oven is a large stoneware pot from India,
opening at the bottom for air.
I placed it inside a large
steel drum, surrounded with vermiculite for insulation.
this pic you can't see the vermiculite, as it needs topping up.
with vermiculite, the top goes on:
A propane gas
burner is adapted with a long pipe
to sit at the bottom
under a grill, which will
hold charcoal,providing a dual heat source.
The gas gets the charcoal going,
and provides a quick boost
at any time.

connected to a portable propane tank, and ....
